Whether you’re preparing to return to work after welcoming a baby, already navigating feeding and pumping at your job, or supporting an employee, coworker, or loved one—this welcoming session is for you.

Topics that may be touched upon:

• Minnesota workplace lactation and break-time policies
• Setting up and advocating for a clean, private space to pump
• Balancing feeding schedules with work demands
• Storing and transporting milk safely during the workday
• Communicating with employers, supervisors, and coworkers about your needs
• Supporting colleagues or employees who are lactating or pumping
• How partners/supporters can play an active role—offering practical help, emotional encouragement, and advocacy both at home and in workplace conversations
• Tools, resources, and local supports for workplace lactation success

You’ll hear guidance from the presenters, along with opportunities to share your own questions and solutions in a supportive, nonjudgmental space.

Light snacks will be available. Babies, children, and walk-ins are welcome.

 

Arrowhead Birth Collective (ABC) is a group of birth workers who aim to provide perinatal support and make doula care more accessible in Cook County—in the fall of 2022, four women, Grace Granger, Hannah Miller, Sadie Sigford, and Britt Malec, collaborated to create increased access to doula services. “We want to make doula care accessible to people in the region, as well as create a culture of support around the experiences of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.  We aim to provide services for people locally who may want support for a home birth, planned induction in Duluth, or someone with birth physiology knowledge to accompany them on the drive to the hospital,” said Malec.
