Reframe Aging Roundtable: Ageism Unmasked - Being Mortal
May 1 | 4:30-6pm | At CCHE
Facilitator & Partner: Care Partners of Cook County
Join us for an engaging discussion of Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. This month’s Reframe Aging roundtable will explore the complex issues surrounding aging, including the limitations of modern medicine, the impact of ageism, and how we can challenge and transform societal attitudes toward aging.
Whether or not you’ve read the book, we welcome you to drop in and participate in an open, thoughtful conversation about aging and how we can create a more compassionate and realistic approach to growing older.
In Being Mortal, Atul Gawande, a practicing surgeon, confronts the limitations of medical care at the end of life. With honesty and humanity, he examines both his own practices and those of others, revealing how the goal of healthcare should not be a "good death," but a "good life"—one that continues to the very end.
