Why Trees Matter: A virtual talk about forests, change, and growing trees back

Join us around Earth Day (April 22) for a timely and engaging virtual presentation about how our forests here in northern Minnesota are changing. In this fun and approachable Zoom talk, Mike Nicklow, founder of Let’s Plant Trees, a nonprofit based in Lutsen, MN. We will explore how forests work, why trees matter, and what’s happening in the places students know and care about.
The presentation is visual, interactive, and designed to spark curiosity. We’ll learn about native trees, wildlife, climate, and how small actions can add up to make a meaningful difference. The session runs about 20–25 minutes, with time for questions and conversation throughout.
Everyone who registers will receive a voucher for a free native tree seedling to pick up this spring in Cook County.
