February 28 | 9am-5pm | At ISD 166 Industrial Tech Room
Instructor: Tobias Lawson

This hands-on TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding course is designed for students
seeking practical, job-ready skills. The class introduces the principles of precision
welding used in fabrication, automotive, aerospace, and metal-art industries. Students
learn machine setup, torch and pedal control, heat management, filler rod selection, and
safe operation of TIG equipment. Emphasis is placed on developing clean, consistent
welds on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Whether students are preparing for a
welding certificate, considering a skilled-trades pathway, or expanding their fabrication
abilities, this course provides the foundational skills needed for advanced study or entry-
level shop work.
