The book Fen, Bog & Swamp, is a story of witnessing and researching wetlands and the role they play in preserving the environment. The book also is a journey through the history of the fens from a world perspective and what happened to them.
If you are a natural history person, a lover of nature, and concerned about climate change then this book is for you.

Hillary Freeman is both a Master Gardener and a Master Naturalist in Cook County who has a passion for the unique environment of this area.
Gine Meissner is both a Master Naturalist and Master Gardener in Cook County. She has lived here for almost 42 years and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Always something new to discover and learn.
